Mold transfers and program takeovers

Your molder is closing, late, out of capacity or not holding the part. We take over existing programs and put them on a documented, scientifically developed process.

How a transfer works

  1. Review the tool and the history

Send the mold specifications, the print, the material, any existing process sheet and the problems you have had. We tell you up front whether it fits our presses.

  2. Inspect and qualify

When the mold arrives we inspect it, then qualify it on our press rather than copying old settings and hoping.

  3. Develop the process

We build the process around cavity pressure, not the previous shop's machine numbers. That is often where long-standing quality problems get solved.

  4. Sample and approve

First-article parts are measured against the print and sent to you for approval before production starts.

  5. Run and monitor

Production runs under eDART® monitoring, with the process documented so it repeats every time the mold is hung.

Plan the bridge. If your current molder can still run, a bank of parts built before the tool moves keeps your line fed during the transfer. Tell us your inventory position and we will plan the timing around it.

What to send us

  • Part print and the material specification
  • Mold dimensions, weight, number of cavities and runner type
  • Annual volume and typical order size
  • Current process sheet, if you have it
  • Known issues with the part or the tool
  • Who owns the tooling

Next step

Send us a print

A drawing or STEP file is ideal. A photo and a description is enough to start. You talk to the person who will run the process.
